Subject: TV shows with David James Elliott

Poor David James Elliott -- who was the star of the long-running TV series "JAG" and is now on the CBS crime drama "Close to Home" -- is apparently not so much a babe magnet as a Grandma magnet!
For most of its 10-year run, "JAG" suffered from skewing "old" in its demographics. The show always had a pretty high number of viewers, but the majority of them were in the 50+ age range, not the 18- to 49-year-old age group so prized by advertisers.
I recently read that "Close to Home" is suffering from the exact same problem. For a show that airs on Friday nights, it has a pretty large audience, but it's currently got the oldest average audience age of any show on TV!
I guess when people see the name "David James Elliott" in the cast, they take it as code to call Grandma into the living room and make themselves scarce.
BTW, I watched "JAG" but have never seen "Close to Home". So I can't comment on whether or not CtH is a "good" show. It just seems funny that every show DJE joins appeals primarily to senior citizens, as he's not that old (early 40s, I think) himself.
