Good points CW. I have read/seen maybe stories that are open to interpretation. I liked Waiting for Godot which to me was waiting in vain but hopefully for whatever you think will help you in life or show you life's answers, etc. Some say it's God (Godot) but could be anything you want it to be.

To me, Lost has too much that isn't allegorical to be in Beckett's league.

The sub could very well be another fake out.

An interesting theory others have about Locke's dad is that he is The Sawyer that caused the deaths of James (Sawyer)'s parents. He was a con man after all. So if Locke doesn't want to kill him...

Since Desmond couldn't get away on his boat saying that it was like being inside a bowl, I think the island is surrounded by a force field of some kind that might make it invisable to satellites. Michael had to follow one certain path to get out. Desmond's girlfriend is looking for signs of the elctro-magnetic distrubance which might be the only way to locate the island. I bet she'll show up at S3's cliffhanger.

I think Locke never knew either of his parents, was left at an orphanage at birth.
