If they ever do another movie with the word "X-Files" in the title I don't think it will be what any of us here want: a movie featuring David Duchonvy as Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Scully and Mulder and Scully being the main characters.
I think the BEST we can hope for, at this point, is that the hypothetical second XF movie features a pair of new young agents looking for M&S and that DD and GA show up as M&S at some point, but the movie focuses more on the younger agents.
The other possibility is that in 2015 or so -- whenever they start remaking 90s TV shows into movies, as they have recently done with 80s TV shows like "Miami Vice" and "The Dukes of Hazard" -- there will be another XF movie and it will feature characters named Mulder and Scully, but they will be portrayed by totally different actors than DD and GA; just as the "Miami Vice" movie had different actors playing Crockett and Tubbs than had played them in the TV show.
