but I thought the Doctor wasn't allowed to travel back on his own time stream and therefore not able to stop Gallifrey from blowing up. In fact, I wonder why the TLs didn't do that in the first place but it is the first [or maybe wecond] law of time. I reckon that for future eps they could actually do that and bring Gallifrey back.

The Face of Bo is more than he seems. HE is a long time friend of the Doctor and very affectionate towards him. The Doctor...I found in the last Face ep ....could not totally work out why the Face was so attached to him and could not explain to Rose who exactly the Face was. The Doctor just knew him of old. Do not, what ever you do, watch the final ep of DW. Do not do it. Watch all of them and then pay close attention to the second last scene of the last ep.

I did not mind Gridlock. I just felt is was a breath of fresh exhaust fumes to have Rose gone and the Doctor trying to work out where Martha fits in. I think that eps 7 + are the best. Just nice to have a story and original stories at that. I also thought the Macra were a plot device but....well...they are meant to live on exhaust fumes so....
