Subject: Alias...boo!!! (spoilers)

I heard lots of rumors about the new season of Alias and looks like they are true from the season premiere. They killed off Vaughn (or whatever his name was) in ep #1!! I heard he was leaving but I thought he might get in a few eps before the big death scene. Some fans were petitioning the show to keep him but was this JJ's decision or Vartan's?

Vaughn was part of the show since day one so he will leave a void. He basically was Syd's only love interest. I was surprised Jack was unable to comfort his daughter in the hospital, I thought Jack was over being aloof with her. I noticed Weiss is listed as a guest star because he's on the way out too. The sister is in a coma & won't be appearing any time soon if at all. Sloane is in jail but will be dragged back into plots as he always is.

They need new characters and I guess we got the intro to Syd's new sidekick last week. Or she's a rival but they made her appearence seem significant. I hear Syd's going to work with another female agent who will do the action bits while Syd's pregnant. Perhaps she will continue the show if Garner decides this is her last season.

Maybe they should have put the show on hiatus until she had Affleck's baby, I didn't think Scully running around pregnant made much sense either. I won't let my wife lift a heavy box let alone go on dangerous missions!!! The preview from next week has her talk about her raging hormones as she kicks some bad guy's ass. That'll work for a few eps but once she starts showing (which she should already as they jumped ahead 4 months), no way to ass kicking!!!

The reveal of Vaughn's past was kind of a let down from last season's great cliffhanger as he had said "it depends on who you ask" if I'm a bad guy. The truth now told is that Vaughn & his dad had different names & were on some Rimbaldi-ish mission that he didn't know much about in the first place!!!! That's 2 cliffhangers in a row created with a solution that side steps what was set up. Cheaters!!!!

Well, still a goofy good fun show but I think they might have taken it as far as it'll go. Get in the 100 eps & call it a day. I see the first 4 seasons are in syndication already so they are set for some time.
