Subject: Well, PHOOEY!! (vague NCIS spoilers)

Several different sites on the internet say that "Somebody will be leaving the NCIS team" at the end of this season. I say PHOOEY to that. Kate just left at the end of last season. Kate was shot. It doesn't say that a team member will *die* this time around, just that they're leaving the team.
Now we have to speculate about who it will be. As with last season, I don't *want* it to be anybody, but -- considering that they're just supposed to "leave" not "die" -- my guess would be that Ducky is the most likely choice. He's got to be nearing, if not past, retirement age. And I could see that the grueling schedule of an hour-long drama might be too much for a man of David McCallum's age to do for more than the three years he's already been on the show. If he just "retires" he could always come back occasionally on a consultant/guest star basis.
I wouldn't mind seeing the insipid Mr. Palmer leave the show, but I'm assuming that they mean one of the main characters, not a supporting one. I guess McGee is also a possibility. I really doubt Tony, Gibbs or Abby will leave and, considering that Ziva just joined the cast *this* season, I can't see her leaving next season.
The constant cast turnover among my favorite current shows (I also like "CSI:NY" and they had an actress leave at the end of last season, too) really makes me appreciate the dedication of DD and GA for sticking to XF for seven seasons!
