In some ways, for me, the mystery of the island is like the Rambaldi plot line on Alias (except Lost is much much MUCH better). I never paid attention to the intricacies of the Rambaldi nonsense. While I find the island's mystery intriguing, I'm content for now to have it remain a mystery.

The characters are very interesting, and I very much enjoy seeing what happened in their lives that led to them being on the flight. I guess that ties in with the mystery - they are all there for a reason (if Locke is to be believed).

I loved the Arntz character! When he was going off on Hurley about how the main group is like the cool kids in high school, and how some people have lost weight while on the island, I cracked up. The character is clearly voicing what viewers have no doubt been saying. Too funny.

While I knew Walt was the object of The Others' attention once the baby wasn't taken, it was still a shock to see how he was abducted. That was just creepy.

I have to say that I just hated Shannon in the first few episodes. But, boy, was her character developed well! She went from being vapid and self-absorbed to being emotionally complex (but still keeping some of the self-centeredness). Nicely done.

Oooo...I can't wait for season 2!
