Well, now that they mentioned Gibbs has (or had; it was unclear whether she was still living) a daughter, I'm kind of thinking Abby might actually be his daughter!! But we may never know for sure; after all, this is the third season and we're just now finding out the he's ever even been a father.
The Middle Eastern stuff confused me, too, CW.
My favorite scene in part two was where Abby found something on the computer and McGee litterally lifted her out of the chair so he have access to the computer. That's what I like about NCIS; they have these characters that at first glance look very stereotyplcal -- like "McGee the Geek" and "Tony the overgrown frat boy" -- but then they occasionally show you the flip side of their personalities. When the situation calls for it, McGee can be plenty tough and Tony can be very respectful and dignified.
