The Gibbs/Abby kiss on NCIS

Did anybody else catch this? It definitely was *NOT* a loverlike kiss (yes, even an ubershipper like me admits that some kisses are not romantic/sexual in nature), just a brief "be careful" peck on the temple that Gibbs bestowed on Abby when she was going on a rare undercover assignment.
For those of you who don't watch the show: Gibbs is easily old enough to be Abby's father. And she's a computer geek who hardly ever leaves the lab, but did in this ep because they had an urgent need for an agent who was super computer-savvy to infilitrate a cybersex service.
Still, kissing co-workers isn't common and it does bring up questions as to the exact nature of the relationship between Gibbs and Abby. My theory is that he's her ex-stepfather. Considering that he's been married and divorced three times, he's got to have a few stepkids someplace.
