I think the black agent is named David Sinclair. The actor who plays him was on "Dark Angel" and portrayed a *very* different character there; a kind of stoned Jamaican dude.
As for Charlie helping the FBI. . .I don't think it would be totally uheard-of for local FBI offices to have outside consultants who they occasionally called in to help them on cases where a certain level of expertise in an esoteric subject was needed. Except for *maybe* at FBI headquarters, they can't have their own experts in everything on staff. I agree that they wouldn't be calling in Charlie on a weekly basis, but that's the premise of the show, so I guess we're just going to have to swallow it.
I did see "Quiz Show" and really liked it.
