Subject: "NUMB3RS" gets shippy (spoilers for the 2/11) ep

Wow, this one was definitely my favorite ep so far! I liked that Charlie was asking Don for help for a change, instead of vice-versa like it usually is. And I liked that Don was right; that the kid really did commit suicide. Although Charlie's insistence on an investigation did bring to light the structural problems with the building that the kid had discovered, so it wasn't like he was just wasting everybody's time.
My favorite part, though, was the personal stuff. We now know that Terri and Don have a "history" together and that his best date ever was the first time he went out with her. I loved how happy they looked together when they were laughing in his Dad's kitchen. I hope the producers of this show have enough guts to defy conventional TV wisdom and let Terri and Don's relationship develop at a normal pace. I don't want to see them in bed together this season, but I wouldn't mind a kiss at the end of this season and then maybe them getting engaged and/or consumating their relationship near the end of next season. And the usual objections to this sort of behavior -- that it takes away from the show's "actual content" -- doesn't really apply to "NUMB3RS"; it's already been made clear that the show is "about" the personal lives of the Epps family as much as it is about solving crimes.
We also had another one of those hilariously great Dad-and-Don conversations:
Don: My best date ever was eating pizza in a laundromat.
Dad: That would go a long way toward explaining the conspicuous lack of grandchildren in my life.
There was one tiny way in which the ep could have been a little better. Given the fact that both Dad and Don were dancing around the edges of romance, couldn't Charlie have had his possible romantic interest, Amita, helping him instead of the physics guy? It's true that I always want to see more of Amita, but in this particular episode it *REALLY* seems like she would have fit into the storyline better than the physics guy.
