This was an okay ep, but probably not one of my favorites. I did *NOT* like Don's old girlfriend -- she was rude to Charlie, among other failings -- but we probably weren't supposed to like her. It seems to be absolutely mandatory for all TV shows to do an ep in the first season in which one of the main characters meets up with an ex-lover (can you say "Phoebe Green"?), so I'm glad we got it out of the way early and don't have to worry about it cropping up again.
There were a few minor touches I really enjoyed about this ep. I liked Terry grilling David over Don's past relationship and David trying not to answer; that was cute. Also, I liked the fact that Amita was actually the one who suggested they change the angle at which they were viewing the money. And the Don/Charlie scene at the end was great! Not only did we finally get to see Don's apartment, we got more insight into the changing nature of the relationship between the brothers.
One final comment/question: When Amita walked into the Eppes home, what did Charlie say to her? It sounded like he said, "Hey, babe!" which is hardly a declaration of undying love but -- when coming from the usually reserved Charlie -- does seem to indicate a certain amount of romantic interest.
