Subject: the Joan/Adam scandal

OK, re: teen sex. I was most certainly one of the half that kept their virginity through out high school (although not from the lack of trying). Being a nerd helps one hold onto to that (college in a big city-almost a given you'd lose it even if you weren't trying to but I digress). I meant that the producers of Joan are going to bend over backwards to keep her a virgin for fear of being too naughty on a show about God. The Joan/Adam breakup really puts this off even more. Now, my thoughts are more about later on in the show's run (if it gets that far). The college age Joan or the living on her own Joan will still be a virgin? I'm all for the kids waiting & doing it with the right person at the right time (safely) but I'm not sure about waiting until marriage. I needed alot of practice so that I was as impressive as I could have been when my wife came around.

I didn't see so much of the first season, maybe the last group of eps & the odd re-run over the summer. So the second season is what I know better. I guess I need to somehow see the DVD of S1 when it comes out.

I thought the breakup was a bit quick, usually they build up these things for a few eps. Some fans I saw on a Joan message board are mad & say this was totally out of character for Adam. But the relationship was at a bit of a stand still. How will Adam fit into the show now that he's a regular cast member? Will Joan find someone new? Last night's ep seemed like she still likes him & might be willing to forgive.

Yes, SMH, I like a family drama show. I usually don't. Most are too gooey for me or too hard to keep up with. I liked the concept & AT is wonderful in the role. If Joan goes & Enterprise, all I have left is Lost, Alias & 24. And I'm getting bored with Alias & 24 by now, Lost better sustain into a second season. Actually, I like it when my shows end, less time wasted on TV.
