She steps forward to his side, brushing her muzzle gently across his shoulder as she speaks, "Life is not predjudiced against those who are good and those who are not, and so life often seems unfair... We can't dwell on its unfairness, though, for it does no good..." As she speaks, a tune from her childhood floats into her memory, and she begins to sing it aloud, quietly but with great emotion. "Hush now, my darling, don't you cry. When you cry, I cry too..." It was the tune her mother had sung to her growing up, and for the last time before her death.
