Apparently the people in charge of the websites at those schools think prominently mentioning the Jesuit connection is pretty important in marketing and branding their universities.

But then they possibly could not know as much about their own business, or what matters to the specific student demographic they are chasing, as someone not in the field.

Who knew?

Parents in most cases are paying for the kids education. Canisius like other Jesuit schools is using it as part of their branding as a point of difference. Jesuits are known for being top shelf when it comes to education. Good for Canisius of dialing this up and linking it to developing the next generation of leaders. Go Griffs!

Come on. Don't be so naive. Unless and until the Jesuits have a tik tok presence, today's kids couldn't give two shits about a "top shelf Catholic" education. And their parents are going to incontrovertibly pay whether they go to Canisius or North East Arkansas Tech A&T State.

The blurbs fill up space on their web sites and maybe make a few administrators and donors happy. To think the Jesuit affiliation actually influences enough kids to come anywhere near to filling out a student body is ridiculous. Pretty sure many more people go to Creighton because they were in the Elite 8.
