Re: Schedule Release -- JB, Wed, August 30 2023, 7:26:53
Griff can't they play a total of 31 games? I know it's around finals but it seems like a big gap between December 9th and 22nd to not play at all. Any chance of a game still being added?

Yes I was thinking the same things. 30 on the schedule now and from what I am taking from the NCAA website (below), a 31st game could be scheduled since the three in Montreal are MTE's. I do remember a game being added after the official release a few years ago. Northern Kentucky maybe? Not sure if that is even being considered but I'll see what I may be able to find out.
In April 2020, the Division I Council passed legislation that allows men's basketball programs to schedule up to 28 regular-season games and participate in an MTE that has up to three games, or 29 regular-season games while participating in an MTE that has up to two games, for a total of 31 games in either scheduling option.

Re: Schedule Release -- BfloGriff, Wed, August 30 2023, 10:59:30
Six out of the first seven games are on the road, although in three of them, the Northern Classic, our opponent will also be playing on the road. D-2 D'Youville should (must?) be a win, but all seven games will be a test for the coaching staff, IMO. The opener with Syracuse and the 12/9 Pitt road games are $$ games for Canisius, aren't they?

Syracuse and Pitt are 80-90k games. Although improved, D'Youville should certainly be a 20 point plus win. 2-1 in Montreal would be great - 1-2 is a must. Robert Morris will be good and High Point on the road before Christmas could be a tricky one. Always hate to admit it but Bonaventure in Olean will be very tough as will at Cleveland St. Honestly, I'd be thrilled with a 4-6 ooc.
