Subject: Practice 7/16

Attended practice today and had the pleasure of sitting with two of the program's legends. Obviously just one day in the middle of July, but I came away impressed with a few guys.

1) Mike Evbagharu - You can just see his veteran presence. Strong, thick kid who just knows how to play. Will be a big piece.

2) Bryan Ndjonga - Long and athletic. Shot it better from the mid range and perimeter than I expected.

3) Myles Wilmoth - If he is able to stay healthy, he will be a force in the post. Long and rangy.

4) King Ijeoma - Really had a good day finishing at the basket. Combined with Ndjonga and Wilmoth, they will be much better and tougher down low.

5) Brendan Oliver - Caught the wrath of Coach Christian a few times but he's a 6'6" athlete with a lot of upside.

6) Anthony Benard - Looks considerably stronger and more confident than he did last year. Shot it well too.

*Did not practice - Marcus Niblack had a rest day, Max Jusianiec is rehabbing an injury and EVDP is in Algeria playing for the Netherlands under 20 team.

Ash was out a lot - not entirely sure why. Javante is as quick as advertised and handles it well but needs to get stronger and more accustomed to this level. Kumu showed his explosiveness and I have no doubt will be very good. I've heard nothing but good about him - on this day, he looked like someone who needs to gain more experience as a collegiate player. Singleton was solid - not anything spectacular or negative. Again, this was one day in July for 90 minutes.
