President Stoute appeared on the July 21 episode of "Trustees + Presidents: Managing College Athletics," a podcast for university leaders on college athletics! He spoke about the university's strategic decision to 'opt in' to the NCAA's new rules that allow schools to pay student-athletes directly from institutional funds and the establishment of the Blue & Gold Excellence Fund as a fundraising initiative to support men's and women's basketball and hockey programs! For those who don't know our President Steve Stout's story, once upon a time he wanted to become a college or university Athletics Director. So his appearance on the pod cast was right up his alley. But he continued on and reached a terminal degree allowing him to become a University President. Canisius is fortunate to have him. Even more so in the present academics/athletics environment.
