Then if you can't or won't do what's necessary screw going D2 or 3 or whatever. Scrap the whole thing. You are wasting everyone's time.

I haven't ever posted anything here before. But I am just amazed when I go to games how accepted losing is. It's like I'm at a CYO game and we will be handing out participation trophies after the game. Everybody just sleep walks. No pride at all.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- He is becoming Jerry Sullivan, Sat, February 14 2026, 17:29:19
These schools will never be able to compete until they put money against athletics. The math is simple. Neither school isn’t investing hence this is where we are. Talk to the schools presidents. The AD’s are doing the best of what they’ve been given.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- We need more Jerry's to call it like it is, Sat, February 14 2026, 18:03:02
The school president who is out of touch and has done absolutely nothing for athletics? That school president who can't even show up to a game?

Very disappointed in President Steve.l guess he lied when he said he knew how important sports were to Canisius.

I'm completely baffled by his never being in attendance. Sunday afternoon games man come on. How will things ever improve if the guy in charge never sees what needs to improve?

Yo Stoute go to a frigin Basketball game! What is wrong with you . You Should be ashamed . Are you too good to go to a game? I know you have other problems but if you addressed Basketball you could get some revenue and Name recognition for the school. Come on man! Don’t you know this is our premier sport ? I’d be happy to sit with you and explain it to you since I’ve been going since I was like 12 years old. Would have been nice to get you there sooner when the games Actually mattered and we Had a chance to make the playoffs. I thought you would emphasize athletics but clearly you don’t care. Go to your stupid staff meetings and meetings with the dopes that only care about being on committees and enhancing their resume. Are you that clueless? Let’s go Griffs!

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- They need to put money into athletics., Mon, February 16 2026, 17:21:55
The school is in the process of right sizing the budget. It’s been painful but at some point you need to invest into athletics. There is no way we can compete in this new world of athletics if we don’t have some influx of cash for NIL. Stoute, needs to commit to this. If he comes to a game great but give athletics $. Go Griffs!

How much in $$ are they putting in right now? How much should they be putting in to be competitive in the MAAC. How much of those $$ should go to MBB?

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- Cager, Tue, February 17 2026, 8:56:45
I'm concerned about the attendance , or lack of attendance at the games this year. Granted the winter has been brutal, and the team is not winning, but a Division one team should attract lots more people than what is taking place at the KAC this season. I can think of several reasons this is taking place. What is the school going to do about it? I don't believe going D3 St. Francis,Pa. is the answer, or simply dropping Athletics completely, St.Francis Brooklyn. the question is, where is the money to support a viable D1 program goinmg to come from? Go Griffs!!! By the way, I was impressed with the effort our team gave in those two close games this past weekend.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- Griff, Tue, February 17 2026, 11:29:28
It's simplistic and cliche and I know it's a lot easier said than done, but you absolutely have to win to get people to games. Bottom line. I've watched every game either in person or on TV over the last two years and I've walked away unhappy 47 times. Happy 11 times. That's a lot of unhappiness. People are frustrated. And it's such a catch 22 because many don't want to give or attend because they see it as a waste of money and time but not giving and having small crowds does nothing to help winning.
So you have to get over the hump. Have to hopefully retain guys like Singleton, Edwards, and Evbagharu and get lucky with three or 4 others (hopefully more) to get to the .500 neighborhood next year and make the MAAC tournament. There isn't a marketing ploy in the world (and Mike Kochczynski works his ass off trying to increase attendance, engagement, and revenue) that is going to get people to a game when they believe they're going to lose before the opening tip.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- It starts with Stoute., Wed, February 18 2026, 13:17:31
Christian, has an impossible task. How is he going to be competitive in this new landscape if he has no financial resources? Yes, the place is empty but we had a decent crowd for Niagara. Take a look at St. Peter’s which in the top of the MAAC our attendance is better than theirs. The Griffs for the second year don’t have a point guard in a league which is all about guards. As a result they’re exhausted at the end, run out of gas & their bench is terrible. We should have never lost the Marist game. Game after game we dig a hole & then make a bit of a run which results in a loss. No Atlantic City this year. I’m pulling for Merrimack. Think about it, they went D1 only a few years ago, won the NEC & are now owning the MAAC with their zone. Joey Gallo can flat out coach & recruit. Also their endowment is less than ours. It starts with Stoute & Trustees. Wake up Griff fans we deserve better.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- Gone_Griffs, Sun, February 15 2026, 7:01:54
The best path forward for Canisius is to go D3 in all sports but hockey. Invest more in that program - resources, coaching, facility, branding, student + alumni engagement. Maybe launch a women's program eventually. If Canisius cannot compete in the MAAC, there's no point in wasting the money when it could be applied to areas to benefit the long term viability of the school.

Nobody will care about college hockey in WNY. I certainly don’t and never will. Much less woman’s hockey. Get a grip on reality. Don’t give up on men’s Basketball . JC is a good coach needs support and some cash that’s all. Don’t be a quitter especially on the board that is for basketball. Go on a board fo Irish dancing or some nonsense . Let’s go Griffs!

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- Gone_Griffs, Sun, February 15 2026, 13:55:33
Well nobody really seems to care about basketball either. People tend to support winning programs and if Canisius can invest more in hockey, they have a better chance of turning a corner there then they do with basketball. They can recruit kids from Canada and hockey is a more relevant sport than basketball.

Re: Mike Harrington Scorches Griffs On Twitter -- Hockey?, Sun, February 15 2026, 12:15:54
No one nationally cares about hockey. The rest of the country outside of Buffalo and a few select cities don’t even care about the NHL. College hockey might not even be in the top-10 of most followed college sport.
Canisius would be better served to cut it (or some other sports) despite the bad press and reallocate that money to mens basketball.

We need to get hoops right. No one would watch D3 anything and you could have the best college hockey team in the nation and no one (except you maybe lol) would even notice.

I couldn't care less about hockey, and that puts me in a pretty big boat with a lot of others. Basketball is my game. We have the coach, now give him some damn resources!

Said today:
Canisius men (8-19, 3-13) have lost 11 in a row -- all in the MAAC -- and will join Niagara (7-19, 4-12) in again missing conference tourney.
Griffs' 1996 NCAA berth, a 29-point loss to Utah, is their only one in the last 69 years. Come on, man.
