Hey D. I never had Bryan as a student and who knew then what would eventually happen in his coaching life, so I don't know him personally but certainly know many who do including his Director of Player Personnel Marty Stockwell (former assistant at Jamestown HS) who I taught with for 26 years. I know that Bryan quickly became known as a tireless worker and relentless recruiter especially once he moved on from SUNY Fredonia and JCC to Midland JC. Certainly being able to latch on with Nate Oats at UB propelled him to where he is now.

As far as Syracuse goes and other jobs that are or may become open, I honestly think he will have his pick. Young, energetic, aggressive guy who has had remarkable success in his three years as a head coach. Providence will definitely take a run at him as well - their NIL situation is better than Syracuse and actually one of the best in college basketball. He was a Syracuse fan as a kid and being able to move back to the region and coach in the ACC and The Dome certainly will be appealing to him. Staying at USF and living in Tampa with a hefty raise can't be entirely ruled out either. If I had to wager, I would say he takes over at Syracuse and I guess we'll see where that goes. They have a lot that needs to be repaired in that program.

Hodgson just turned down the Syracuse job.
