Yes, we've been experiencing a recession in the USA.

So, how can we survive? About the same way we thrive
in better times.
1) Look for solutions. People spend too much time fretting about their problems. As long as you have a good grasp on reality, you've probably already defined your problem.
2) If your business has been around for a few years, you probably had some success. Repeat what you did. Too many people think they've "graduated." They're not freshmen anymore. They figure they're ready for advanced methods too often it means expensive, less effective mass media).
3) Using mini-media is something to proud of, if you do it well. Misusing mass media is nothing to be proud of.
4) If you use mass media, use it to reach more prospects. You should already to be contacting your clientele regularly.)
5) ASk for referrals. Use this basic message- "During hard times, We know you want to be sure you're investing your money & getting the best value you can. You know there are lots of businesses out to sell you whatever they can -- even if what they sell WON'T HELP YOU! Your friend or relative who gave you this letter is concerned about you. Concerned enough to direct you to a business they've gotten a lot of value from.
"We're honored to be the ones they trust enough to recommend to you."

As long as people are spending money & what you sell is wanted (maybe even necessary, but mostly wanted) your business can thrive.

Some businesses near me are doing well with mass media, that's good.
Please remember, what works for similar businesses may ork for yours, but your business (& target market) may need something else.
