I look over every pup. "The pups seem OK. But over there..the fire...its getting really out of control...and none of them have come back. I'm getting really worried about them." I hesitate long enough to glance across the highway to be sure they weren't attempting to cross now. . . they weren't."Listen Taro, if things don't improve over there..."I allow my voice to trail off, trying to think of the rite way to word this. "I-it may be best if I go over and help. One more person could really make a difference. I mean, I'm probably the only adult in perfectly good health, and I know I'd never be able to forgive myself if-"I cut myself off. "Well I guess we'll think about that when the time comes...i suppose" I say slowly. "You better get your rest." I urge before lying down myself and contimplating the current situation.
