Finally, licking the knife with an expression of pure loathing and fury, she begins. The knife's blade flashes in the dim light of the Sali as it slowly becomes drenched in the rat's blood. It was a complex ceremony, consisting of various styles of cutting, slicing, and stabbing in various, often symbolically-shaped patterns. Blood trickled in rivulets across the overweight rat's fur, twisting the shape of the marks. Throughout the entire process, the rat is...well, certainly not happy. It hurts, blast it...and it's only going to get worse. Subject Author Date Yes, it's going to get worse, but not for much longer. The blood-letting was certainly complex, it was also a lengthy process. One that, it must be admitted, Valeria performed flawlessly, a testament to her skill in the rites of darkness. Valeria gives an overly curt nod to Velenx - she's irritated at him, it's plain, but he'll more than make it up to her later tonight during the post-sacrifical ceremony. But for now, there is more serious work to be done. The final breaking of the condemned falls into the cruel paws of Velenx, no stranger to torture. He steps up to the wall, his snarling lips for the first time in many minutes almost curling up into a wicked smile. From his belt he unhooks an iron hammer, one carved with runes and demons. Without a word, he swings it twice... efficiently shattering both the rat's kneecaps. At this sudden shock of unspeakable agony, the rat does let out his screams, but now Velenx doesn't care. With no support, gravity does its work and the brutalized creature falls, all his weight crashing down on his ruined knees. With one final scream, one that would make all but the cruelest beasts weep, the rat falls and lies on floor, writhing around, trying to find some position that will ease the unspeakable agony in his knees and wrists. His fur is slicked with cold sweat, and the pallor of his flesh attests to the hideous volume of blood he has lost. With a satisfied smirk, Velenx turns to Valeria.
