Hey, where IS everybody? Busy with pre-holiday activities I guess? There are only two weeks left before Christmas--I for one am a little shocked at how quickly the last of year 2006 is moving.
Yes, as Merlin confirmed, it's true--sadly, George's beloved Max has gone to his maker. It's the end of an era.
If I sound facetious, I don't mean to. I truly sympathize with GC's grief. I love animals and always take it hard when our family pets pass on, as eventually they all do. I have a tabby cat named Lizzie who is about 7 years old now and I dread her inevitable end--she's my sweetie. She's big and spoiled and affectionate and playful and eternally nosy--curious about every single thing I do around the house. She also gets very jealous of my giving my attention to my telephone or computer. (Not now, hon. Get down.)
Max had a good run, eighteen years. A big chunk of GC's history. George is quoted as saying he won't get another pig, but I wonder if he'll get another pet of any kind? Both of his beloved dogs, Bud and Lou, are gone now too.
As I mention in my subject line, GC is scheduled to chat with Matt Lauer on tomorrow morning's "Today" show--don't forget to set your alarm clocks, everyone! Presumably he'll be discussing his new movie co-starring Cate Blanchett, "The Good German" (directed by one of his favorite creative partners, Steven Soderbergh), which has the misfortune (?) to be released around the same time as his friend Matt Damon's new movie, "The Good Shepherd." Hope that won't cause confusion or friction.
Is everyone doing okay? Angel? Tara? Jen? Maria? Chris? Merlin? et al? Cheers, all--take care of yourselves. Hope we all get to chat before the Christmas-New Year's festivities begin.
Stay warm! :-)
Lorraine
