Hi Angel,
Tonight is the televised Cinematique tribute to GC on the AMC channel--I can hardly wait! :-)
And unlike the other TV appearances, if I (or you or any of the other Clooneymaniacs who gather here) miss the show, you'll be relieved and delighted to know it will be repeated again tonight and several times more throughout the week, and again as the holiday approaches, so we'll have plenty of chances to see our boy being toasted (and goodnaturedly roasted) by his movie colleagues and friends. (Check the TV Now website for correct times in your area)
I totally understand your love for your cats, past and present, Angel. We had two sister cats my brother brought home to the family when they were both just 2 weeks old--at the time I could have clobbered him, I was so worried he'd taken them from their mother too soon.
But Annie and Gloria were feisty, fearless little creatures who immediately made themselves at home, amusing us by bossing around our bewildered cocker spaniel and doing cute things like pawing at the toilet paper roll and then dragging the unwinding toilet tissue down the length of the hallway, etc.
Annie got sick and died in 1991 as she neared the age of 14 years; Gloria hung in there until 1995, when suddenly, at 18 years, she began having seizures and eventually had to be put to sleep. I held each of them in my arms as they breathed their last and was devastated by the loss. Like you, Angel, I swore that that was it, that I'd never get another pet, dog or cat. It just hurt too much when it was time to say goodbye to them.
But my mom surprised (and annoyed) me shortly after Gloria's passing, nagging and nagging me to get another pet. Eventually I caved in and Miss Lizzie came into my life, and she's been wonderful company. (She's in my lap as I type this)
Aagh! Gotta go! Don't want to miss George and Friends! More later!
Lorraine
