Lord Justin's last word was still sounding in the air, as Magan lurched forward in a withering strike that nearly knocked the shield out of Justin's hands. But the self proclaimed lord of Canaday kept his ground and quickly retaliated with an attack of his own.
Two blades crossed again and again in spectacle of fury, and each time they touched, it seemed like flames flew from the point of the strike...

I backed away for a few moments, catching my breath, while anger fueled my body with energy. Tileraases voice whispered in my mind, reflecting a hint of worry.
"Magan, there is something about his sword... it could be a spell or..."

Another series of strikes came from Justin's side, and I used mostly my shield in defense. One of the blows brushed at my right shoulder, barely scratching it, yet a burning sensation shook me for a short moment.
Struggling, I lunged forward knocking Justin away with my shield, but where my sword followed it stroke but empty air as my enemy dodged faster then eyes could follow.

Lord Justin stood his ground a few steps away, at a safe distance.
Mockery in his voice, he spoke.
"Nice moves you've got there young Magan. Even learned a few new ones I see...",
following with a clearly mock pretense sigh he continued.
"Too bad you couldn't see the moves we taught to your little sister th..."

With a scream of anger I cut his sentence short as I launched another attack, this time out of control. One strike after another, I delivered blows against his sword and shield.
Swinging Tileraas with all force I tore down into Justin's shield breaking it in two.
Same moment, inspite of loosing some balance from sheer force of my blow, he brought up his own strike to my shield from the side…

Justin felt comfortable by simply wearing down Magan using the revenge and anger that burned in his young opponent while only staying on defense himself... waiting for an opportunity when the young knight
would make a mistake...
Yet, the last attack came with such force that even Justin's sword skills were put to a hard test trying to stop the rain of blows from breaking through his defense.
With last strike Sir Dragzfuth's silverblue shining blade broke Justin's shield in half, but in the process the knight left his guard down on the left. Justin struggled to regain balance and swung up his own sword towards Magan's left arm. More by a stroke of luck then intention, young knight turned and deflected part of the blow by his shield, but still Justin's sword found its mark sending Magan's shield flying and to the ground. The two foes were left facing each other with just swords now.

I felt my left arm pulsating with pain, as if it was pierced by a dozen blades. Yet the wound was not deep, quite the opposite, there were only traces of blood.
Tileraas turned to me in mind again.
"Whatever curse it is that his sword carries... I cannot protect you from this.
If he strikes you down, we won't have a second chance."

I looked at my left shoulder for a moment, as in trying to convince myself of those words, then I put pain out of mind and gripped the sword with both hands, bringing it forth.

Justin stood catching his breath as well, noticing my glance at the shoulder.
He held his own sword with two hands now.
"Yes, a little black witch magic never hurts when fighting a godsword bearer." he grinned darkly.
"Helps to even the odds, don't you think...?"

Two dueling figures started circling around each other slowly, both having eyes focused on movements of the enemy.
Suddenly, Magan's eyes fixed on a little emerald trinket that Justin wore around his neck, and then they flared with a short spark of brightgreen of their own.
A dead silence fell over the fighting grounds, and all the observers stood as if carved in stone watching the duel intently, while even wind seemed to have faded. Then the silence was interrupted by a deep, echoing voice, only faintly resembling that of its owner, Sir Magan of Dragzfuth.
"I NEED NO MAGIC POWERS TO SEND YOU TO YOUR RIGHTFULL PLACE IN HELL!..."

Blue glittering blade flew ahead again and crossed paths with Lord Justin's black silver sword in another firework display of sparks...

continued... :)
