Subject: Keecadoran-Von Risper day 2

Tillanova (Keecadoran)

"Driver, stop!" Tillanova leaned out of the coach at the
cathedral. Not waiting for the coachmen to open the door she ran from
the coach up the church steps. She stopped and looked at the far
mountains to the east and saw the leaves were starting to turn. "Damn,
I am running out of time." She vanished into the church.

"Your Majesty." Father Bludart knelt.

"Leave here. Go!" She commanded.

"But..."

"GO!"

The fat father hoisted his robes and fled, his faced flushed and
flustered.

Tillanova waited until he had left and then examined Shane under the
mist. It was weakening and turning green...when it reached a clear mist
the boy would die and she had no more powers to waste to save him. She
needed what she had remaining to preserve her own strength and maintain
the queens disguise.
Quickly she hurried to the coach and ordered them in haste to the opera
house.

Von Risper in a purple suit with lace and frills about the cuffs stopped
playing his piano and watched with mirth as the queen approached.

"Your majesty...ah...not your majesty...Keecadoran?" He tossed his
head back and laughed a wonderful laugh, a joyful laugh. His smile
broadened and glittered as she climbed onto the stage and walked
casually and unhurried up to within one foot of the bald man.

"You, my dear must have iron ovaries to come here..." He stood and
bowed. "But I so admire your brass and cunning. You snatched the boy
right from under my very nose." He applauded. "I send my young Borg to
seduce Ezella and to retrieve the boy and he seduces the queen...where
is the queen?" He held out his hand and took the scroll she handed him.

"The queen passed away under natural causes, as per her agreement on the
scroll?" She lit a cigar taken from the container on the piano.

"Natural causes?" He read the scroll and tallied the names.

"Yes, natural causes...I stabbed her and naturally, she died."

Risper rocked with laughter that shook the chandeliers. "You are my
favorite, Kee. You are my favorite." He reached into a chest under the
piano and brought out a large silver medallion with a flying jackal on
it. "Place this about your neck and you shall be immortal, my equal,
with powers beyond your imagination. You have done well." He placed
the scroll in the arms of a golden statue of a cat. "Now, about the
boy..."

"I shall keep the boy for now as insurance." She felt the power seeping
into her veins. he could see the mist growing blue and her eyes both
went red and then a light blue. She breathed easy.

"You would think me vengeful? No, no, no. All of this," he made a
large sweep with his arms..."is but a game. Sometimes I win...well,
most times I win, but when I lose it is so refreshing and so
magnificently humbling." He kissed her forehead and wiped away the
powder. "Must you wear that dust? No, my dear...you find the first
hundred years are great; after that it is down hill for eternity.
Boring and long...I look forward to the likes of you. I have not given
you a gift...it is a curse. You shall see. The boy? Keep him. I grow
weary of this piano thing anyway, besides there is a young knight in
our midst. He has a very, very, very big sword. If Justin fails to
kill him, then let me coin a phrase...Ah'm outa here. You can have this
Wretched State all to yourself. Wars have been done to death and I have
no interest in them. I care not who wins...

Just then the golden statue exploded and the scroll rolled over to
Rispers' feet.

"What have you done?!" Risper picked up the scroll. "Belamore's
signature is invalid. You tricked me again? It is not written in his
hand."

"At the time he did not have a hand to write with. I signed it for him.
He agreed!" Keecadoran backed away from Risper's eyes.

"He was delirious with pain, near death...he did not have his wits or a
free will...you stole his soul." He walked toward her. "You have
damned me and destroyed me!" He reached for her but burst into white
flames before he could touch her.

Keecadoran ran from the building as it began to collapse around her. In
but seconds the opera house was gone and she stood outside by the coach.

"What has happened my queen?"

Tillanova-Keecadoran shrugged. "A loose brick perhaps. No matter. To
the church." She gleamed and smiled and climbed into the royal coach.
"Take your time driver, I have all the time in the world."

continued...
