Shane & Tri-arcanoth

T'was a beautifull sunny day,
Shane merilly ran off into the forest,
planning to take a swim in the rushing creek.
A happy smile beamed on the face of the young boy,
he helped save a hero, Sir Dragzfuth,
a deed just short of slaying a dragon in his eyes.

He ran up the stream,
reaching his favourite spot to swim,
but as he readied to dive in,
a large shadow cast over the forest.
Shane looked upwards the creek,
trees fell in the water,
and there he was, standing in all of its might,
once proud three headed dragon Tri-arcanoth.
The beast drank from the stream,
as dreaded as it looked,
one could tell it was exhausted,
perhaps from a long journey.

The boy stood still in awe,
his eyes glittered with fear and astonishment at the same time,
sense told him to run,
but curiosity got better of him.
Ever so slowly, dragon quenched his thirst,
turning one of his heads down and seeing the boy...

Hissing, the dragon stood up,
ground trembled as he moved,
walking towards the boy, one head spoke,
"I take it this is the first time to see a live dragon for you,
especially one with a severed head isn't it?
And now you are thinking of running to the town,
warn your fellow... humans...
so they can try chasing me down before I could attack, right?"
Breathing heavily, dragon stood just meters from Shane,
the talking head right in front of boy's face.

Shane shivered as he felt dragon's breath.
"I... I didn't think of that yet,
I was just shocked to see thee... Tri-arcanoth..."

"Alive?" Dragon finished the sentence.
"Your knight did a good job,
the head he sewered stripped me of most of my power,
but it takes more then that to kill an elder dragon like me."
The head that haven't spoke yet breathed a puff of smoke.

"But what are you coming here for, oh might Tri-arcanoth?
Revenge? Is it our kingdom's capital you seek to destroy?"

Both heads shook,
"Revenge, yes.
Destruction of your city and castle?
No, at least... not yet.
My anger is with the traitor, Lord Justin,
and the knight under his service that beheaded me.
They two must pay,
and I may spare all your pathetic little lives later on..."

Shane looked boldy into dragon's eyes...
"You may have Lord Justin,
from what I heard he is no good man anyway...
But you cannot have Sir Dragzfuth,
I will not let you!
Besides he already took off one of your heads,
are you sure you want to let him a shot at other two?"
Boy added with a provoking smile.

Dragon breathed smoke again in agony,
"Do not even mention his name boy,
I haven't planned to slay you,
but do not test my patience too far.
Now be gone,
before I change my mind.
Run and go tell your knight I am coming to see him soon."

With those words, dragon released a terrible roar,
followed by fire and smoke everywhere,
sending Shane running in fear.
As the boy grew distant,
dragon sighed almost like a human,
and fell into thoughts.
"When I was younger,
I would never have dared to let that boy run,"
he thought to himself,
"the age really softens... even dragons..."
With that in mind,
dragon Tri-arcanoth turned slowly,
and walked on through the forest,
looking for a good place to hide for the night.

Not far from there, a pair of old eyes watched the encounter,
a female figure moved away as a dragon left,
an old had? Or just a plain forest witch...
who is to tell...
