The benefit was great. From what I understand from Tommy Shaw who put the whole thing together they did not want coverage because it would have taken way too long to do the concert and they only had so little time to do both days. This statement was either on his website or the Volunteers for America website. They were videoing so maybe a DVD or tape someday will come out on it. It was a pretty good show. They had alot of sound problems in the first 4 or 5 acts. Journey was great but again some sound problems arose. All 15,000 knew the words to their songs except for the new one off Arrival called World Gone Wild. I knew it and kept standing but, alot sat down for that one. The lighters were lit it was amazing. They rocked the house and Steve Augeri forgot a verse in Wheel in the Sky, but that happens to alot of singers doing live performances. I just thought he changed it around a little but, later discovered it was blip. Augeri has a beautiful face and good stage presence. I believe most accepted him at the concert. I talked with a few who did not know the Essentials were out and told them to go to Target. A good picture of Augeri and Tommy Shaw on the Styx website go see for yourself. Now the best was really Styx. No sound problems music was crystal clear. They absolutely rocked. Their new lead singer is right on. Everyone knew the words to the music and sang along drowning them out at times.
We left when Lynard Skynard came on to beat the traffic out. I still had a headache come Monday and finally feeling recovered from the long trip and all the excitement. I wish people could understand and accept the fact that Augeri is helping to keep the music alive and spread it to those who may have not heard it. He really does do justice to the songs. Yes I would rather it be Perry but, since it's not I can very much appreciate Augeri giving it his all.
