Ugh - from what i have read about it, if it's the same procedure, the degenerated bones are sawed off and replaced with a metal joint (titanium, as SP says in his case) I've had one surgery (abdominal) and the pain was vicious for a few days - I can't imagine what a hip replacement is like. The more I think about it the madder I get about the band's insensitivity, particularly in light of the fact SP is a "frontman" Really, did they think we wanted him to be wheeled out in a chair onstage to make some kind of statement? We might have admired his courage, but how are you supposed to enjoy a show when you're suffering in sympathy at the same time. Good for Steve for knowing where to draw the line, and shame on the band for being so cold about the whole thing.
