Watching the BTM directors cut was great. They shed a little more light on things but it still left me wanting to know more. I respect Steve alot and will not search for more to the story. I do not think that we will ever see Neal, Jon, Steve P., Ross, & Steve S. together again. Steve Smith to me seems like a very nice guy who has gone to do something else and seems so happy in what he is doing. Neil and Jon are not very trusting people to me. What really sorta bothered me about the new footage was that Steve P. looked very hurt by everything that happened with the guys and himself. I hope that doing the BTM gave Steve Perry some closure in his career with Journey. When he asked Jon to leave the name Journey alone do whatever you want with whomever you want but the leave the name Journey alone, I could see the pain and frustation in his eyes. Ross has had some down times and I hope he is on the mend with life. Going on with someone else I think will be there downfall. Journey was Steve Perry, Neil Schon, Jon Cain, Ross Valory & Steve Smith. I think that the magic they once had is finally gone. When Steve P. said that during the making of WYLAW video that between takes he had to go into his own little room and have his hip packed in ice just me made want to cry for the man. To be in that pain and do that video is just amazing. The guys should have respected what he was going through and given there support. I think that Neil and Jon had already decided to dump Steve for someone else and was looking for a way to get him out without there being a court case. Steve Perry always did what he believed was right at the time. Steve Perry was the only member to look back and say if he had the chance to do it again he would not have done it. I did not hear anyone else say that. For many years the guys were on the road touring and it does take alot out a person. You don't have a life that is private. If you have a family the family starts to fall apart. I think that Steve Perry was excited when he first started with Journey getting the chance to do what he always wanted to do but I think somewhere along the way I feel that Steve Perry felt boxed in by the celebrity of being a rock star and being able to lead a normal life that he trully felt like he needed to get back control of his life before it was too late. I think Steve mad the right choice to just stop during the ROR tour. Steve Perry is finally leading a life that he is comfortable with. Whether or not Steve will tour again or even sing again with Journey (which I don't think will ever happen)or solo is anyones guess. As long as STEVE is happy in his life that is all that matters. I think that Steve Smith has gone on with life and excepted everything in the past. As for the others I think they are still riding that wave hoping the magic will return again, but without Steve Perry singing lead for them I am afraid the magic they once had is finally gone.

Steve:
Honey you are my shinging star. I hope that you finally have the life that makes you happy. Take time to smell the roses and do all things that you never had the chance to do and want to do. Let life entertain you. Sit back and enjoy all that life has to give you. When and if the time is ever right I know you will sing again. You have a talent and gift your voice, that you have shared with me and everyone else for many years that I hope someday you will share that beautiful gift again. Until then I have the many songs and memories to keep this heart of mine happy. I will always remember, remember. Sweet sweet thing you set my soul on fire. You have been a shining star to me and you will always be the singer of the song that set's my soul free. With much love.

Pat
