Subject: Trial by Fire

This weekend I was given the CD Trial by Fire. This cd has blown me away. I have enjoyed Journey's music for 20+ years and this cd has to be the best, in my opinion. I believe that the years that they took off allowed them to come back together with a new desire to create music that they felt passionate about. This cd is so different from anything they had accomplished prior to this cd. They were evolving into a group that had found a new voice (not meaning Steve) that all were in tune to and this evolution would have set them up as one of rocks greatest groups. I'm sadden by the thought we will not be allowed to see where this evolution was headed. I believe that when they made this cd they didn't do it for their fans, but instead, for themselves. The music has such depth and emotion that came from all of them, not just from Steve's singing. I'm in awe at what they did and sad that they weren't able to reslove the issues that led to the breakup. I truly hope that one day they can put those issues aside and continue on with the journey they had started. I just wanted to share this with everyone.
