Hello Angel,

You're a little too young to know too much about the history of the US involvement in the Arab world and it would help if you read some books to better understand the attack on New York City and Washington, DC. I live in New York and my view from my window was of the Twin Towers and now they are gone and I do mourn the loss of all of those souls but I don't ask the question why because I know the answer. My only question is why it took so long? We knew it was coming. You can't bomb Libya, the Sudan, Iraq (every day for ten years now) and other Muslim countries in the Arab world and not expect payback. It was bound to happen and with more indiscriminate bombing by our nation expect more blood drives at your school. I just feel sorry for you and most of your friends who will end up supporting this immoral "war against terrorism" and end up marching against it in about ten years when most of your friends are dead or horribly crippled. War is not the answer and bombing Afghanistan isn't going to bring back all of those people buried under the rubble a little over a mile from my home.

I would hope that you will read books on the subject and not blindly support something that will have no winners. We all lose. Violence begets violence and killing does not end killing. An eye for an eye doesn't work here. It will only bring more pain and more sadness and create another 10,000 Bin Ladens.

The pain the terrorists inflicted in less than 2 hours is just a little bit of what Bagdad experienced when we bombed them for months on end. More bombs were dropped on Vietnam than all previous wars. This country has inflicted so much pain in epic proportions all over the world and you ask why us? I just hope that we will learn a very important lesson here that life is valuable no matter what race, creed or color and that we must do everything towards peace rather than find answers through guns and bombs. That makes us no better than those terrorists who killed thousands of innocent people on September 11.
