Hey Pad :)
Thanks for the compliment. As it happens I have assembled a make shift crew to do a short film. I started writing a script a while ago and a very talented writing friend of mine will be editing it for me. Also got a friend over at East Coast Media in Grimsby who will lend help with story boarding, filming, 'keying, even possibly blagging use of their chromakey studio (that's a big maybe). There is also a user of this board that has agreed to be a fight choreographer and play a bad guy (I will protect your identity until you say otherwise, lol).
However, I hit a serious case of writers block with a script and talked it over with my man in Grimsby and we agreed for now it might be a bit much to handle. So, for the time being I'm scaling back to doing a saber fight purely for the sake of it sometime. I still need to get a camcorder, saving my pennies and sorting out a FireWire port on my PC!
As for a chromakey studio, I have been wondering if there's any in Hull that can be hired? I've been told that to buy your own chromakey paint is nearly £40 per litre, so that makes me say yikes!
The main project was provisionally penciled at being filmed next summer, but that is shelved for now, but hoepfully sometime inbetween I'll film a fight at suitable location, queen's gardens, somewhere near Princes Quay, or even the University campus. No idea really!
There are some awesome fanfilms on the net, and as I understand it, none of them are using a tracking system, they are all being hand-edited frame by frame!
Getting back to the big project, if anyone is interested in any visual effects work with me feel free to get in touch, it will only encourage me to get on and write the script :-)
