In reply to: Grenith and G'rein 's message, "Now, let us see if anyone actually comes..." on 15:11:11 10/01/04 Fri

Golgith had been in the feeding grounds when he’d heard the scream of a green dragon in heat. Eyes swirling in passion, he looked long into the green’s glowing hide, his own dark one such a contrast to the glowing beauty. His doubts of flight that had followed him for life were gone now. This time, he’d be one of the ‘silly dragons who let their emotions ruin their life.’

X’thrall looked up when he heard the screen, unison with his blue. He gave a slight inclination if his head—yes, it was a seemingly nice looking green. However, he still didn’t really trust those creatures called humans. They lied, betrayed, fought. Dragons were the ones that were always true…

However, life in a Weyr had somewhat softened the stone heart, which seemed in his throat as he watched the green rise. The terrifying shreik sent shivers down his spine—but he liked it. It was such a wonderful, terrible shreik, one that he couldn’t get enough of, one that he knew Golgith couldn’t get enough of.

Golgith was a small blue, very dark in hide. He ran with amazing grace to his rider, and scooped him up onto his back. Then, the strong wings ripped through the air, and he went between, for it would get him to the wonderful green so much faster than a strait flight.
X’thrall was nearly dumped off the blue’s neck when they reached the ground.

Trying to conquer these fears I thought were gone…

(Golgith, if you wish to fly, let me take the riding straps off you. They could slow you down.)

The blue hissed, but complied. When the final strap left the dark hide, the strong legs pushed off hard from the ground, and then remembered, to his dismay, that he must wait for a bugle. Grumbling, he reached flight position just after her thrid scream.

Bringing his head up like a wolf about to howl, he let out a long, terrifying scream, a scream to tell that he was there, and that he would indeed fly in Grenith’s flight.

X’thrall made to put the flight straps at a nearby rock, but immediately dropped everything. He put a hand to his head, clenching his teeth as his soul tried to leave his body and join Golgith in the flight. But no. He wouldn’t loose himself. He’d keep two separate personalities, X’thrall and Golgith, until the flight really started, and he wouldn’t be able to keep the two pieces of one soul apart.

He looked around when he had the power to open his eyes, and saw the green’s rider. He gasped a bit when he saw G’rein. This boy was the rider of the green? X’thrall had never really thought of having a male weyrmate when Golgith finally showed interest in the females, but now that he did, he found that maybe it wasn’t bad. It could be a good thing, if they truly cared for one another. However, he would only find this out if Golgith indeed did fly the emerald beauty that was Grenith.

And it's been so long, I'm dying to live in a world I don't belong…
