Grenith turned in the sky to look down at Golgith. Another blue? Well, nobody had said she wasn’t desirable! G’rein was all het up with that other bluerider – he had always been far too sensitive – she alerted him to this one, and continued to study the blue.

He was a bit small for her liking – bigger than her, but all blues were – though he was rather handsome, she would admit. So now she had two blues ready to follow her! And it would be her choice this time, not G’rein’s. He had chosen in her last flight, and now it would be her turn. But she would have to wait and see…

G’rein turned as his dragon did to look at X’thrall, forgetting Maria as all the new information regarding this one filled his mind. All of his flight-mates before had been male, and here he felt on home turf. A taunting smile flickered across his mobile face – a “you can’t get me!” kind of look – that was what Grenith would have been wearing if she was human.

Like the lilting laughter of a woman, Grenith’s warble floated over to the two males, stoking their lust as a fire stokes coals into more life. Did they seriously think they could catch her? She was the best green here! Who needed the queens when there was her around?
