Another burst of love and passion fueled Garneth. He gave a sweep of his wings, and they flew up, up, higher than ever. His note harmonised with hers, and they sang together, flew together, loved together. He pressed against her, twining his tail ever more tightly with her slender one. This was all so wonderful. He had won his love. No other male had a chance now, and, if they did, he would have something to say about it. Yes, it was love now. Not the blind lust he had felt during the chase, only love, distilled and tempered.

W'ntyr saw the soul of a human in Elaini, and smiled with all the happiness in his soul. Only three yeasr younger than him. That's all she was, and they would grow old together, all their lives would be spent together. He returned her kiss, matching the passion with his own, and more. Close. He needed to be close to her. And he was. He waas holding her, as she held him, and he had never kissed so fervently. He loved her.
