Date Posted: 948348688PST Well mi Sancha is looking muy bonita, and the problem with her on my first time out was a split hose from the outdrive.I took her to Mason Marine in Pasadena. They replaced a hose which account for the steam, but hell out in the harbor it looked like SMOKE to me. I shot the hell out of her with my extenguisher and she looked like a snow storm hit the engine. They cleaned her up,tuned her up,and she's back home. So I decided to stick my head and elbows in every nook and cranny and found loose wires, replaced a few, and I have cleaned her up.Things I should have done prior to launching her, I was so eager to get her on the water that the error in my ways will not soon let me forget. They did a compression check on the cylinders and one cylinder is low, 50% I believe, I have the paper work, if I can find it. Remaining 7 are within normal range. The mechanic gave me much support in my decision to purchase her, hmmmmm I wonder why? Trailer is galvanized and in need of some serious mantinance but heck, I'm up for it. By the time I'm finished with her and the trailer, it'll be brand new!! Whats your Idea Jim on a GPS, Fixed or handheld. Will consider spending up to $400.00 smackers. I went to West Marine in Marina Del Rey and I can't make up my mind. As I become more experienced perhaps a radar that could be intregated with the GPS. She has a Furuno Color Video Sounder model FMV-602 with a thru hull tranducer, that I hope checks out when I launch her perhaps this Sunday morning, rain or shine.I've browsed the manual and I can't find a date when she was first manufactured.Would like to know more about this unit. The previous owner said it was fine. He said the samething about my "Sancha" Chinga, that trailer is rusted to hell, any idea where I could trade it in for another one. Quanto ese? Mucho dinero? I browse around and run into you on other sites Jim, someday we'll meet on the water. Mike [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
