Date Posted: 933542132PDT Subject: Blues off Sta Cruz! Date: Sun, 1 Aug 1999 13:37:47 -0700 (PDT) From: Ron Gaul To: James Morris Jim; Someone got this off the Fish Sniffer site but provided no links. This is the second report I've heard of blues around Monterey Bay. Man, this record swarm of sardines are bringing them inshore. This is NOT evidence that their population overall is healthy. It's just a geographical *shift* not *increase* of population. Just another argument to keep in the bag to use against the gillnetters and longliners. What's the sport bag size and limit for blues? Ron Current Hotbites Fishing Report by the Fish Sniffer Staff July 29, 1999 SANTA CRUZ SHARKS... Blue sharks are showing in good numbers off Santa Cruz finally. "The big bruisers are in!," said Mark Wagner ofSuntan Charters in Santa Cruz, reporting on his latest fishing adventure. "Outof six fish, the smallest was a mere 6 foot 2 inches and the biggest was a whopping 8 foot 8inches and 300#." Twelve-year-old Spencer Kreb from Golden, Colorado, visiting family in Sacramento, landed his first shark and the biggest Mark's ever had ontheboat, the 8' 8" 300 pounder. The fish was landed after a 45 minute fight thattook the young angler around the boat three times. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
