"Dorado Limits+Marlin!"
Posted by Mateo on Sep-20-99 at 11:18 AM Allcoast sportfishing

Vessel: "Hell Ya"
Location: 188 Heading out of Mission Bay 50 Miles South

Targeting Species: Dorado, Marlin

Left out of Mission Bay @ 4:30 heading South on a 188 heading. We were targeting Doradoo and Marlin. At about 50 miles we found proubly 40 and I mean 40 paddies all with in a half mile. We started to chum and boils everywhere. We landed limits of Doradoo with the largets being 29#'s and the smallest being 14#'s and landed more Yellows then I want to count or remember! This area is full of life the hardest thing was keeping the fish out of the paddie that you were fishing or the other paddies 30 ft away.... alot of birds in the area as well. We even hooked a sunfish that did acoupple of leaps out of the water for us ( a first for me!) before we cut the line. On the way in we dragged a 4 marlin jigs and hooked a Marlin on the 425 and brought him next to the boat to be released. We guess the weight was a small 110# or so. I got into a argument with one of the anglers.. he stated that he wanted to keep it and I told him no that it was small and it should be released to be caught when he got bigger.. He argued until I eventually said -- Hey Im the Captain this is my boat I make the rules now enuff is enuff.. I tell ya some people really need to relax when they are out there fishing. The day was great with no swell what so ever back at the dock at 11:00 A.M. !!!
