he didn't want to take the place of the stallion but he was going to try and earn the mare's trust. he nickers to her what happened and wouldnt your previous stallion want you to live on. but if she wasnt going to eat she would soon lose all strength. he would protect her along side her daughter. he turns toward the younger mare nickering her of her age. he was happy to have a spark of life in the herd.
