First of all, I'm not sure if this follows the new rules, but I thought it would be easier to start a new thread instead of branching out on the other thread. Starting a new thread for those reasons is part of the rules, right? I'm just not sure about if the relevant part works. If this is out of the place, please feel free to delete it.

How about I get to the topic so you know what I'm talking about? Since there are several of us that like books, I thought I would let you know about a website that I started using a couple years ago and love! It is www.paperbackswap.com . What happens is you put up books that you are willing to get rid of, and they put it in their database. For every book someone requests from you, you get a credit and can pick any book in the database from any person and that member mails it to you. If you can't find the book you are looking for available in the database, you can always put it on your wish list, and you are put in line. I just checked my profile, and it says I've saved an average of over $1200! It is all free and you just have to pay to ship out books requested from you. Well, you can pay for credits if you want (they are pretty cheap) and there is something new that I haven't tried yet where you can buy a book from them for a certain amount of credits and money. You don't have to give credit card info if you won't be spending any money, though.

One of the cool things is that you can have friends on there :) I have a few friends and I am curious about what they want to read and to make sure they don't have a copy of the book I want before I order it. You can also recommend books to friends and "hold" it for them. So, if any of you guys join, I would love to be your friend! You can find me by my email:

That's a really cool idea! We've really whittled down our library in the past few months. I wish I had known about this site sooner.

Hey thanks for the tip! We have a Half Price Bookstore near us here. If there are any of these near you they will buy your books back (you don't get full price) and then give you cold hard cash for them! I wait until I have a large stash and then the money I get from what I take I use to buy more books to feed my reading addiction! Not a bad addiction to have huh! Especially with the cold snowy weather here in PA!
