Subject: More matter---less art.
The kids are watching Mel Gibson's version of Hamlet today. So many quotes we use today are in there. I had forgotten how many.
To thine own self be true
Good madam stay awhile, I will be faithful.
Doubt truth to be a liar, but never doubt I loved.
Time is out of joint.....that ever I was born to set it right.
To be or not to be, that is the question....to take arms against a sea of trouble....to die, to sleep no more.
so many great thoughts....
I love his silliloquoy in the catacombs after he first rebuffs Ophelia.
To die, to sleep, to dream---there's the rub.
To be or not to be, that is the question....to take arms against a sea of trouble....to die, to sleep no more.
Though I like best"more matter, less art." In other words, stop blabbing and tell me what you want to say already.

You're welcome! :) -- BC, 11:03:13 10/09/10 Sat
"Macbeth" ?! :)
First thing that comes to my mind is when my 10th grade English teacher suprised our class one day ...
We were directed to the auditorium where she performed a scene from Macbeth ...
She was very "witchy" that day! :)
In my mind, I can still see her "arched" and "painted" eyebrows raise as she said ...
"Double, double toil and trouble;"
"Fire burn and cauldron bubble." ! :)
Then and there I became a fan of live stage performances!
She even arranged the opportunity for a few of my classmates and I to work as ushers at a local community theater!

Robert Burns --
We3Kings, 11:26:03 10/09/10 Sat
Since we are going to the Scottish Festival next Saturday, I thought we would focus on all things Scottish this week. Probably throw in some Robert Burns for good measure, too.
