This sounds totally wonderful. I could easily spend a week just exploring the area.
I'm so glad you thought of me. I love that we had the opportunity to meet and share some special time this summer. I think of you often.
Next weekend I head south once again. This time to see the butterfly migration in Pacific Grove. I'm so excited. I just hope the butterflies are really there.
We drove up to Lake Quinault to celebrate a birthday dinner with my nephew (David the drum maker) and his wife. It was quite beautiful. Each pocket of land was filled with low clouds. I had the salmon (Sah mon). The Quinaults recently held their "first Salmon" ceremony honouring the return of the salmon to the lake from the ocean. The first salmon is caught, honoured, killed, filleted and then returned to the water where ( if the filleting has been properly done) they actually swim away. No wonder they see the salmon as very special.

Tomorrow Mary and I drive up to Bremerton (2hr drive) for a memorial service for another nephew's wife who recently died of cancer. Not a pleasant time, but will see many of the relatives.

Hoping your school and life in general is going well.

Love always,
LauraG
