Thanks for your concern BC. We did indeed see about 10 inches of rain in the 48 hours that preceded yesterday. Fortunately I live on the top of a large hill. Unfortunately the road out runs beside a creek which overflowed it's banks. In those situations you just have to ride it out and wait for the creek to go down. The good news is that mushroom fiend that I am, I found some beautiful golden chanterelles yesterday that are considered the mother lode of edible mushrooms. It's a mycologists dream here at the moment as mushrooms are everywhere. However one must always be certain. As I've said here before, "there are old mushroom eaters and bold mushroom eaters but NO old bold mushroom eaters". Love on ya Stewart

Glad to hear you are okay, things look pretty bad on the news out there. I've never had a golden chanterelles, but around here at the right time of year many of my friends hunt for morels and don't like to share :) Have a wonderful holiday!

hey yall,

I love mushrooms and look for oyster mushrooms here regularly. Late fall before it gets cold is the best time. I havent found chanterelles here in the woods only in the grocery store. And they are indeed expensive there. Stewarts right you shouldnt eat raw mushrooms especially not wild ones love on you all angie
