had a good laugh on that one, too!

I did not know erector sets were that old though.

Neat.

Thanks a ton!!!

In the book I am writing, I have Christy purchasing a few toys to take back with her as Christmas presents for the children. SO, with that in mind, I wanted them to be realistic to 1911/1912.

Just looked up erector set and it wasn't made till 1913. My Grandfather had toys in the basement and they were very very old. I got to play with my Grandmother's doll. She was a rag doll stuffed with sawdust and her hair was made of yarn. Her face was painted on cloth and her dress was like a gingham material with lots of tatting on the front. My Grandfather was a carpeter by trade, and made the local children holiday toys and repaired their toys that needed mending. My Grandparents were both from Tennessee and were born in the late 1800's. My father was born in 1914. Sorry about the date mix up with the erector set.
