101010 (base two (binary)) equals 42 (base ten). Oddly enough, this is evenly divisible by the number of days in a week (7 (lucky) ) ...

The binary attributes of 101010 lends itself to use by the sciences of fractals (recursive geometric shapes) and chaos theory (the butterfly effect).

The butterfly effect is a term used in Chaos Theory to describe how tiny variations can affect giant systems, and complex systems, like weather patterns. The term butterfly effect was applied in Chaos Theory to suggest that the wing movements of a butterfly might have significant repercussions on wind strength and movements throughout the weather systems of the world, and theoretically, could cause tornadoes halfway around the world.

What the butterfly effect seems to posit, is that the prediction of the behavior of any large system is virtually impossible unless one could account for all tiny factors, which might have a minute effect on the system. Thus large systems like weather remain impossible to predict because there are too many unknown variables to count.

If I'm correctly understanding the premise behind the "butterfly effect"...
little things we do ...
no matter how small they may be ...
*** just like the delicate wings of a butterfly ...
have the potential for making a BIG difference in the whole scheme of things!

Now, as to whether things take a turn for the better or for the worse ...
I guess that is ultimately up to each one of us?!
maybe each of our actions combined with either our "positive" or our "negative" intent is the "exponential notation" of the equation ?! :)

I found several videos ...
but, I needed to laugh ...
so, I think I'll post this one for now!
No, it's not intended to be "free advertisement" for insurance ...
I just like the concept of the video!
Hope ya'll like it too!

[> [> [> [> [> [> The "science" of effective "fractals" -- such as "we" ... (BC), 17:46:20 08/11/10 Wed

require a "loop" of "positive feedback" ...
'cause we're all "connected" ...
and, "we're all in this thing together" so to say?! :)

"The word "fractal" was coined less than twenty years ago by one of history's most creative mathematicians, Benoit Mandelbrot, whose seminal work, The Fractal Geometry of Nature, first introduced and explained concepts underlying this new vision ..."

Mandelbrot derived the term "fractal" from the Latin verb "frangere" - meaning to break or fragment ..."

"Basically, a fractal is any pattern that reveals greater complexity as it is enlarged ..."

Thus, fractals graphically portray the notion of "worlds within worlds" which has obsessed Western culture from its tenth-century beginnings ..."

"Traditional Euclidean patterns appear simpler as they are magnified ..."

"But fractals ...
like dendritic branches of lightning or bumps of broccoli, are not differentiable ...
the closer you come, the more detail you see ..."

"Infinity is implicit and invisible in the computations of calculus but explicit and graphically manifest in fractals ..."

"Whether generated by computers or natural processes, all fractals are spun ...
from what scientists call ..."
a "positive feedback loop" ...
Something--data or matter--goes in one "end," undergoes a given, often very slight, modification and comes out the other."

"Fractals are produced when the output is fed back into the system as input again and again ..."

"Fractals show us that the simplest engines of change ..."
*** like the "butterfly effect" ...
"often produce exquisitely elaborate patterns ..."

"Such systems are at work all around us, from the stock market to the stars ..."

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> "Fractals" ... -- by Neil Diamond (BC), 18:03:04 08/11/10 Wed

Actually, the song is "Lady Magdalene" by Neil Diamond ...
but, all the images in the video are "fractals"! :)

*** Yep!
Some here might remember that I posted this video about 2 1/2 years ago ...
I still remember some funny comments ...
made by others ...
regarding the images in the video which made me smile!

And, I'm still smiling! :)
But, for a different reason! :)
I'm hoping someone else out there understands why?! :)

One way or another, I'm gonna write a book ...
based on my experiences and my journals ...
I need to tell this story ...

As to it's "classificaton" ...
"fiction" or "non-fiction" ?! ...
My "money" is on it having a basis of "fact" ...
I simply don't believe it to be "fiction"!

Anyways ...
here's the video ...
thanks for listening!
- BC :)
