Subject: Persieds Rock!

It's that time of year again. Get out there after midnight and watch those Persieds light up the sky!

Ha! Tried to watch them last night (peak night) but after a 300 mile drive to Pt Townsend I had to give up and go to bed. Can't sleep my life away. I'll make up for it tonight.

I heard them talking on the radio about that today as I was driving home from work ...
there's a possibility we might be able to catch a glimpse of the Persieds from out part of TN tonight!
Do you think they'll excuse me from work tomorrow if I tell them that I had to stay up all night ...
'cause one of my "teachers" ...
Ms. G ...
gave me an assigment to watch the "showers" and write an essay?! :)

Funny, but as I was looking up last night theMark twain quote came to mind. I love the part where Huck compares the stars to frog eggs.

"It’s lovely to live on a raft. We had the sky up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made or only just happened. Jim he allowed they was made, but I allowed they happened; I judged it would have took too long to MAKE so many. Jim said the moon could a LAID them; well, that looked kind of reasonable, so I didn’t say nothing against it, because I’ve seen a frog lay most as many, so of course it could be done. We used to watch the stars that fell, too, and see them streak down. Jim allowed they’d got spoiled and was hove out of the nest."

[> [> [> [> A "Hop"-pothesis ?! :) -- BC, 06:24:36 08/14/10 Sat

OK Lou ...
I've been "pondering" ...
travelin' along with Huck Finn on his "train of thought" ...
Re: "galatic" frogs
I have a "hop-pothesis" in regards to the celestial phenomena known as "black holes" ...

According to one definition I found ...
"black holes" are ...
a "cosmic body with gravity so intense that nothing, not even light, can escape" ?!

Now let's keep in mind one certain "bullfrog" ...
and, the vast "gape" which occurred when opening his mouth ...
This "bullfrog" has a very "magnetic" personality ...
wouldn't you agree?

Anways ...
Imagine this "bullfrog" stretching forth his tongue to capture a passing fly?!
*flies don't stand a chance with this guy ...
especially at dinner time! :)
the "force" which "draws them in" is simply too powerful for his "victims" to escape! :)

To "ponder" even further ...
think of the large "vacuum" which would occur even during those times when he is very sleepy ...
about to "bed down" for the night ...
and, he "yawns"?!

Suppose all these stars ...
being "frog eggs" eventually hatch into a giant "celestial bullfrogs" ?!
A frog has to eat doesn't he?!
Spacecraft, aircraft and the people in them ...
might appear to him as passing "flies" ...
or, "dinner ala carte"?!

Again, I'm just speaking "hop-pothetically" here ...
and, you must keep in mind ...
my "scientific peers" are primarily kids ...
who think that riding a big yellow school bus is "kinda cool"! :)

Alright, it's time to go to work!
Have a great day!
and, take time to "ponder" the possibilities!
- BC :)

We were up at 1am to watch them. Hannah saw a big purple streak and the rest of us saw at least one each in an hour time frame. The cops came by and wanted to know why we were out on our front lawn at 1am.

I told him--look up--

So sad, no one even looks up anymore. :)

I agree Cath!
We often miss a lot by not taking the time to simply "look" ...
and "ponder"! :)

Lou ...
I believe I need to read that book again ...
I like considering different perspectives ...
especially through the eyes of a child.

Yep, I'm awake ...
and, look at the time?!
But ...
evidently ...
I'm not the only "night owl"* or "early bird"* 'round here?!
*** I guess you'll have to choose the correct term of the two which apply to you ...
depending on the time zone in which you live?! :)
Me?
I'm an "old crow" who needs to go back to sleep ...
gotta work tomorrow ...
or, I guess I should say ...
gotta work later today?! :P

I hope all of you have a great weekend!
with love from, BC :)

btw ...
The captcha for this is "luk ln"
Kinda reminds me of how people try to put a "coded" message on the license plate of their car ...
maybe it could stand for "look & learn" ...
it's a "stretch" ...
but, anything is possible ...
at least that's what I've been told ...
and, I'm beginning to believe it's true?! :)
