Subject: ...sitting in a heat wave...

Well, the new school year starts tomorrow.

There was staff development day today for all teachers. I've been transferred to a new school in a semi-rural place just outside the north-western part of Sydney called Hawkesbury. They have like... farm animals there! It's freaky! It's like another planet! When I pulled into the teacher's carpark, the first words that went through my mind was, "the Eagle has landed.."

Oh god... my head is hurting so bad atm... it was 36 degrees today. And apparently it's going to go over 39 degrees tomorrow... I'm expecting 40 maybe... huuuhhh...
You can bet that I'm gonna bring a bottle of ice along with me to work tomorrow. Thank goodness my new staffroom and classroom have air conditioning. Too bad my car's aircon is busted (and it's a 39km drive).

But the best thing of all, is that this school is more relaxed with teacher's dress code. I asked the principal if it'd be okay if I could wear a polo shirt, cargo shorts and sneakers to work tomorrow and he said that was fine. I was like, "COOL!"

I *hate* wearing professional business clothing in summer. Actually, I hate wearing it period, but wearing it in summer just sucks. I can tolerate wearing it in winter.

Summer sucks when it gets too hot. Dammit.
