ORB: It wasn't censorship, it was telling a poster to address other posters in a slightly more respectful way. We can agree, disagree, debate and wrestle the point back and forth without resorting to insulting one another. To be honest I hadn't read your posts to Bats at the time I warned WarCore - but you know how this place runs, you have been here before and if you made personal digs towards Bats then you should know that that's against the rules. I never once said that WarCore was not entitled to his opinion, or spoke against his right of free expression, or deleted/unapproved his posts: I just asked him not to have a go at someone who hadn't had a go at him. Nothing more, nothing less - and that is always how I have run this place, before your departure and after your return. The fact that it is a volatile issue is irrelevant - all I wanted to do was spur some discussion and you can do that without calling someone's points "mindless drivel".

WarCore: First off, the word you are looking for is retracted. Secondly I have no idea what "a taste founded arguments" means, and thirdly, consider yourself banned if you like - you're not - but you know as well as I do that that was not my intention - that was, as I outlined in my warning post, to ask you to reconsider your way of speaking to other posters. This place has long had a relaxed feel to it and I firmly believe that it got that way because people did not feel as if they were going to be insulted for expressing an opinion. All I wanted was for you to reconsider how you spoke to other posters - and perhaps find a way to say "I disagree" that did not involve phrases like "mindless drivel" along the way. If you disagree with someone fine and dandy - that is what this place was set up for - but you have to know that no matter how well you put your argument, you lose it the minute you stoop to making insults to shore up your points.

One single rule (good manners towards one another) has ever operated in this place and I genuinely believe this board is a better place for it and the willingness of its users to work with it. ORB, you are welcome to go on posting here, as is WarCore, despite what he thinks, but I stand by my position - all I asked was for people to speak to one another as they themselves would like to be spoken to: intelligently, with a sense of manners and a sense of respect.
